Isola
Bella, with the beautiful baroque-inspired Palace and its
sumptuous halls, the Italian-style Garden enriched by statues
and water games. Isola dei Pescatori, inhabited from the tenth
century, with its ancient charm. Isola Madre, and its lovely
gardens sourrounding the Palace, planned by the architect
Pellegrino Tibaldi.

the Museo del Paesaggio (Landscape Museum) in Palazzo Viani

Villa S. Remigio. By the lake front you can admire the small
island S. Giovanni, former house of Arturo Toscanini.
Villa Taranto, botanical garden, park, garden, natural greenhouse
and today, thanks to the Scottish captain Neil Mc Eacharn's
work, point of reference for botanic lovers from all over
the world.

AND SAN CARLO

Ancient
feud of the Borromeo family, it offers piazza del Popolo (People
square), ancient seat of the market, Casa del Podestà
(House of Podesta), Villa Ponti, wonderful churches.
On the hill that dominates the city rises the Rocca (the Fortress)
and the colossal statue of San Carlo, being erected by Federico
Borromeo in praise of the Saint.

rises in a remote and almost inaccessible place. Rich in artistic
interest, it includes three different parts: the Southern
Convent, the Conventino and the Church with S. Caterina's
chapel, from the thirteenth century, nucleus of the original

Foundation at Vacciago di Ameno, Alzo Sanctuary, Monte Mesma
